This project was to develop an entire company idea starting with a product line that is based off of biomimicry and sustainability. I designed wedge shoes for women with a sole design that mimicked the aesthetic and functionality of the dog paw. The concept was to develop wedge heels for women that are comfortable, easier to walk in, and still fashionable. I designed the shoes and packaging, along with a sunglasses case as a secondary product. Both products are made with sustainable and recyclable materials. From there, I named the company “Solepaws” and designed the logo, business system, invoice, memos, swatch book, and catalog. The logo are circular paw pads arranged like human toes over the name, the business system and memos use a recycled brown paper. The swatch book showcases the patterns I designed and printed on cotton fabric that was applied to the products. The catalog promotes the products in an informational way. The pictures in the catalog are shown outdoors to show that the shoes are easier to walk in and a woman can maneuver outdoors, much like a dog, with ease and comfort. I also wrote a business plan for the company and positioned it to be ready to ask for a start-up loan and launch the company.
